Open Art Exhibition – 'From the Heart'

Terms and Conditions for Submissions
Venue: Indigo Crow Gallery, 57 Burton Road, Lincoln. LN1 3JY
Dates: 2nd to 15th February, 2026.
Eligibility: The Open Art exhibition is open to all artists resident in Lincolnshire.
Fees: The submission fee is £9.00 per artist per piece (payable later) for the two-week exhibition. OPen Art Lincs operates on a not-for-profit basis, and the fee covers gallery hire and other essential costs such as catalogue printing, and excludes any labour costs.
Theme: The theme of the open exhibition is ‘From the Heart’ (see the 'Call for Submissions' web-page for more information) and the medium can be 2D painting, drawing etc, or 3D in any medium eg sculpture, ceramics, or assemblages etc.
Size restrictions: Wall art should be no larger than 90cm height x 60cm width and 3-D work should be no larger than 20 x 20 x 20cm.

Submissions: All submissions should be made using the form linked below. Entries are restricted to two pieces of work per artist. All work submitted must have been executed between 2024 and 2026 and not shown earlier in an Open Art exhibition. Artists may include up to five prints and twenty cards of their art work in the actual exhibition.
Submission deadline: The deadline for submissions is nominally midnight Jan 10th 2026 or earlier, depending on when sufficient submissions have been received to meet the capacity of the art space.

Judging: No formal judging of the works will take place, though OPen Art Lincs, and the gallery owners of Indigo Crow reserve the right to de-select any works that are not in keeping with the theme, or unsuitable for viewing by people under the age of 18. Please note, the 'Submission Form' requests a short statement from the artists on the relevance of their work to the theme.
Images: Your uploaded entries must be in .JPG/JPEG format with each image having a file size no larger than 3.0Mb. Entrants may submit one image of each work (ie a maximum of two images). For 2D work please take the photograph square on, and for 3D work please take the photograph against a plain background.
Prizes: There will be an opportunity for visitors to vote for their favourite piece in the exhibition. A cash prize of £75 will be awarded to the winner and £25 to the runner up.
Sale of work: A 30% commission will be taken off all sales, please consider this if you price your work. The price stated on the submission form is the exhibition selling price inclusive of the commission. The gallery aims to make payment to the artist within a few days of the end of the exhibition.
Insurance and damage to works: Selected works will be treated with the utmost care on the stated delivery date. The Indigo Crow Gallery will not be responsible for any loss or damage to artwork whilst in their possession however caused. The Indigo Crow Gallery does not make provision for individual insurance of works of art. Exhibitors are responsible for arranging their own insurance to cover damage or loss to their artwork either in transit or whilst at the gallery.
Copyright: By submitting work to the exhibition, the artist confirms that they hold all intellectual property rights in the work, and that they have obtained prior written approval for the use of any third party copyrighted material contained in the submitted work. Artists will allow the work to be photographed and reproduced by the organisers for both publicity and marketing purposes, in digital and print format. Copyright of all work remains the property of the artist.
Data protection: In accordance with the data protection Act 1998 (and all other relevant Data Protection Legislation), OPen Art Lincs will hold the personal data of artists supplied on the Submission Form securely. The data will only be used in the process of administering the exhibition and will not be transferred to any third party not directly involved in this exhibition.
