Terms and Arrangements for the Christmas Art Bazaar at The Rickyard

Fri 28th Nov (6-9pm) – Sun30th (10-4pm)’25

1. Introduction: The Christmas Art Bazaar is a commercial opportunity for Lincolnshire artists to sell their works as original Christmas gifts consisting of: (A) 2-D wall art and 3-D sculptures and/or (B) Prints and/or (C) Cards. All 2-D, 3-D art works and prints should be priced at less than £150.00 per item and sculptures should have maximum dimensions of 20 x 20 x 20cm. Free delivery of work from uphill Lincoln to and from the Rickyard Gallery is available (see points 8 and 10 below).

2. Quotas: The fixed quota per artist for all items (A),(B), and (C) irrespective of whether the artist wishes to sell in only one of those categories, is as follows:
(A) 2-D wall art or 3-D sculptures - 2 pieces maximum
(B) Prints - 5 pieces maximum
(C) Cards - 25 pieces maximum (replenishable)

3. Fees/Commission: There will be a flat submission fee of £10.00 per artist (payable later), irrespective of whether the artist wishes to sell in just one of the categories (A),(B) or (C) and a commission of only 10% will be charged on all sales.

4. How to apply: A place at the bazaar is confirmed on completion of the submission form Web-linked below, which requires an uploaded photograph of one example of an item that will be for sale. Details of art-works and prints will obtained by e-mail later. Subject to receiving the example image, Open Art Lincs and The Rickyard Gallery reserve the right not to exhibit the artist’s work if it is unsuitable for viewing by people under 18. Works produced by AI will not be accepted. Submissions will close when the gallery has reached capacity.

5. Labelling (all items): Please ensure every item you wish to sell at the event is labelled and priced. Paintings (all priced at less than £150.00 each) will be hung on the walls with appropriate art gallery labels, but please ensure your own label is on the back of each piece.

6. Display of works: For wall art, please ensure your framed work is ready to be hung. It should be strung with cord between D-rings or split rings for hanging on the gallery fixtures. Prints will be placed either on tables or in browser boxes. There is a limited supply of browsers, so if you have your own please bring it (duly labelled). Cards will be displayed on the tables and artists may bring their own card displays (duly labelled) if desired.
7. Sales: There will be one point of sale for all works at the bazaar, managed by the gallery staff. Artists are not required to be in attendance at the gallery during the Bazaar. All payments due to the artists (less 10% commission) will be made in early December.

8. Delivery of work: Please bring your work to The Rickyard Gallery (Postcode LN3 5AB) on Friday 28th Nov between 10.00am - 2.00pm when it will be displayed ready for the opening event on the evening of that date. If you are unable to deliver your work on that date, it may be delivered and stored beforehand at K. Byron’s home in Lincoln for delivery on the day. 9. Preview: There will be a preview of the Bazaar with drinks and nibbles for artists and their guests on Friday 28th Nov from 6.00 - 9.00pm.

10. Collection of work: Work to be collected on the morning of Monday Dec 1st between 10.00am - 2.00pm. If you are unable to collect your work on that date it may be stored for later collection at K.Byron’s home. If you wish to make use of this option please e-mail openartlincs@gmail.com well in advance.

11. Insurance and damage to work: The art works will be treated with the utmost care on the delivery date and during installation and de-installation of the exhibition. The Rickyard Gallery will not be responsible for any loss or damage to artwork whilst in their possession. The Rickyard Gallery does not make provision for individual insurance of works of art. Exhibitors are responsible for arranging their own insurance to cover damage or loss to their artwork either in transit or whilst at the gallery. K.Byron will not be responsible for any loss or damage to artwork stored at his home or in transit to and from the Rickyard Gallery.
12. Intellectual Property Rights: The artist confirms that they hold all intellectual property rights in the work, and that they have obtained prior written approval for the use of any third party copyrighted material contained in the submitted work. Artists will allow the work to be photographed and reproduced by the organisers for both publicity and marketing purposes, in digital and print format. Copyright of all work remains the property of the artist including photographs used for submission in the application process.
